5) Maddie Mince

SCHOOL: Hartland

CLASS: Junior

ACHIEVEMENTS: The only non-Brighton entrant on the list, Mince was excellent in 2016, partaking in four events at the Division 1 state meet and nearly earning all-state honors. Mince just missed the cut in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.90, and she was relatively close in the 50 free (24.47) as well, placing 17th. Mince also competed in the 200 and 400 free relays, swimming the fastest splits on both of her teams, which took 17th and 19th, respectively.

Top 5 preseason girls swimmers in Livingston County

SCHOOL: Brighton CLASS: Senior ACHIEVEMENTS: As a junior, House was part of an all-state relay team for the second consecutive year. She also nearly earned all-state honors in two individual events as well. House was ninth in the 200-yard freestyle (1 minute, 52.48 seconds) at the Division 1 state meet, and 14th in the 500 free (5:05.04).
