MS Competes at Legends Invitational

Last Friday the girls and boys HMS Cross Country team had great weather and wonderful times at the Legends Invitational, held at Huron Meadows Metro-park in Brighton. They took home a total of two trophies and 46 medals.

 

The Girls’ Varsity had a wonderful day, placing 1st out of 11 teams.  The girls had 7 out of their 10 varsity runners hit their personal record.  They took home a trophy and all 10 varsity runners received medals.  Running first for HMS was Emerson Sargent who took 3rd out of 100 runners, with a time of 12:1312:13 puts Emerson 3rd fastest 8th grade girl all time, just five seconds from 2nd place.  Following close behind was 7th grader Alexis Brown who took 6th overall 2nd for HMS with a time of 12:22. Running 8th overall and 3rd for HMS was Madeleine Wisniewski with a time of 13:06. Running 13th overall and 4th for HMS was 7th grader Mya Sandberg with a time of 13:23 and running 15th overall and 5th for HMS was 7th grader Alexandra Cabaj.

 

The girls JV took 2nd out of 9 teams, the top 5 JV runners were Shannon O’Brien, Charlotte Toor, Isabelle Bowie, and Cassandra McGaugh.  Great Job girls.

 

The boys Varsity also had a wonderful day, placing 3rd out of 14 teams.  The boys had 8 out of their 10 varsity runners hit their personal record.  They took home a trophy and all 10 varsity runners received medals.  Once again, Riley Hough led the entire race and finished 1st out of 119 runners with a new personal record time of 10:47, WOW!  Following close behind was 7th grader Clayton Hartwick who took 18th overall 2nd for HMS with a time of 12:19. Running 19th overall and 3rd for HMS was Connor Bratt with a time of 12:22. Running 24th overall and 4th for HMS was 7th grader Dylan Neuer with a time of 12:29 and running 31st  overall and 5th for HMS was 7th grader Zach Krause.

 

The Boys JV took 2nd out of 9 teams, the top 5 JV runners were Travis Goodwin who took 2nd overall in the JV race, Brett Bastionell, Jerome Hunter, Zachery Sandin and Ben Smith.

Great job boys!! Good luck Wednesday in your away meet at Highlander Way Middle School.
