Howell at Hartland football highlights, interviews

A crazy flip by Hartland running back Tommy Lappin is among the highlights from the Eagles’ 28-13 victory over Howell. Bill Khan

1. ALEX WASYL

  • School: Pinckney
  • Grade: Senior
  • Positions: Free safety/wide receiver
  • Achievements: Wasyl intercepted three passes, returning one for a touchdown, in a 42-14 victory over Ann Arbor Skyline. He has six interceptions this season, tops in Livingston County. He also caught six passes for 94 yards, totals that led the team.

2. NICK CAIN

  • School: Pinckney
  • Grade: Senior
  • Positions: Wide receiver/cornerback
  • Achievements: The latest in a string of huge performances by Cain got him in the end zone three times in the rout of Skyline. He caught four passes for 79 yards and two touchdowns and returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown. Cain leads the county with 10 touchdown catches and three kick returns for scores.

3. LOGAN TOBEL

  • School: Hartland
  • Grade: Sophomore
  • Position: Wide receiver
  • Achievements: A talented all-around athlete who played varsity baseball as a freshman, Tobel had a breakout performance in a 28-13 victory over Howell. He caught three passes for 93 yards and his first two varsity touchdowns. His touchdowns came on passes of 8 and 58 yards from Collin Arnold.
