Livingston County football three stars of Week 9

1. LEVI COLLINS

  • School: Pinckney
  • Class: Senior
  • Positions: Running back/linebacker
  • Achievements: Collins didn’t need to touch the ball much to inflict a lot of damage in a 56-0 rout of Lansing Waverly. He carried the ball only five times, but racked up 191 yards and three touchdowns to surpass the 1,000-yard mark for the season. His touchdowns came on runs of 40, 71 and 62 yards. Collins leads Livingston County with 1,123  rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns.

2. TOMMY LAPPIN

  • School: Hartland
  • Class: Senior
  • Positions: Running back/linebacker
  • Achievements: Hartland’s hopes of making the state playoffs ended with a loss to Plymouth, but Lappin completed a special senior season in style. Lappin ran for two touchdowns and caught a 22-yard touchdown pass. He also had 18 tackles, boosting his county-leading total to 132.

3. GEOFF KNAGGS

  • School: Fowlerville
  • Class: Junior
  • Position: Quarterback
  • Achievements: Fowlerville had a disappointing 1-8 season, but Knaggs is one of the reasons the Gladiators have hope for next year. He ran 21 times for 196 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-36 loss to Corunna. Knaggs ran for 12 touchdowns this season.
