Multiple Teams · Summer Schedule – Strength, Speed & Agility Training with Chez for ALL Hartland Athletes

Champions are made in the off-season and that is exactly when our Eagles make their gains in strength, speed & agility. Working with Chez this summer will allow our athletes to continue to make gains instead of getting “back in shape” on the first day of try-outs.

We encourage ALL Hartland athletes to take advantage of this FREE training opportunity.  Each and every Hartland athlete will benefit from this program. Not only does it get the kids out of bed for the summer, it will improve their physical being, help them build on the work they have already put in during their sports season and strengthen them which will help prevent injury. It’s a complete WIN/WIN for everyone.

Speed & Agility training is designed to enhance the capability of each athlete to become more skillful at faster speeds with greater precision relative to their chosen sport through:

  • Most sports skills are performed by applying a force from your feet and using this to help propel you into the air or forward.
  • The more force you apply through your feet, the more force will be directed back at you, therefore allowing you to move faster and thus be more effective.
  • This principle applies very commonly in sports such as basketball, volleyball and high jump.

Strength Training will not only make you stronger but it will help prevent injury and boost your metabolism.

Worksouts will consits of Ground Based activities:

  • Most sports skills are performed by applying a force from your feet and using this to help propel you into the air or forward.
  • The more force you apply through your feet, the more force will be directed back at you, therefore allowing you to move faster and thus be more effective.
  • This principle applies very commonly in sports such as basketball, volleyball and high jump.

Multiple Joint Actions:

  • Exercises that utilize many joints that make up the body will usually be more beneficial in your training than the more isolated exercises (unless of course your goal is to strengthen one specific muscle).
  • These types of exercises will utilize more total muscle fibers, thus strengthening the body more and allowing you to generate more total force.
  • You will also be working more of your neuromuscular system; therefore training your body to be ready at all times and thus increasing your chances of making a successful play.

And Progressive Overload:

  • Without progressive overload your body does not need to adapt and therefore will never get bigger or stronger beyond a certain point. You can either apply an overload by:
    • By increasing the weight you will train your body to grow stronger and more powerful.
    • By increasing the number of repetitions you will train for muscular endurance and size.
