Boys Junior Varsity Swimming, Boys Varsity Swimming · 2016-17 All-Livingston County boys swim team

First Team

Cory Nelligan

SCHOOL: Hartland

CLASS: Senior

EVENT(S): 50 Yard Freestyle & 100 Yard Freestyle

ACHIEVEMENTS: Nelligan had perhaps the most exhilarating state meet of anyone in the county this season. The Hartland senior found himself in a 50 freestyle swim-off at the state meet to decide whether or not he would be an all-stater. Nelligan won it, and ultimately took sixth with a 21.36-second time. He just missed out on being a two-time all-stater like Pinckney’s David Turner; however, Nelligan bested Turner’s county-leading time in the 100 free in the B final, clocking a 46.81.

COACH’S COMMENT: “Cory meant a lot to the team this year,” Hartland coach Trey Conner said. “He helped carry the team with his attitude and his leadership and being a captain. He led the team in points and he was undefeated in the 50 in our county.”

Honourable Mention

Gabe Pillen, Teddy Keranen
