The High School Bowling season kicked off this past weekend, and Hartland’s bowlers were ready to hit their marks!
Hartland’s first bowling event was the 11th Annual North Farmington Early Bird Tournament at Novi Bowl on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Hartland fielded two boys’ teams and one girls’ team in the tournament. Teams bowled six baker games and three individual games, and winners were determined based on total pin fall. The top three teams received trophies, and the top six boys and top six girls received medals for individual game and series. While none of our teams placed, three of our bowlers earned medals.
Hailey Howes bowled an impressive 230 and placed in the top six for the girls.
Devin Guibord threw an outstanding 278 and was the top boy bowler. Guibord was also named to the All Tournament Team.
Max Ostapchuk threw an excellent 623 for high boys’ series.
On Sunday, all four Hartland teams took part in the Richard Hochstein Memorial Scholarship Invitational at Wonderland Lanes in Commerce Township. The top teams in each division received a trophy, and the top 10 individual boy and girl bowlers were awarded medals for individual game and series, with the top three individuals earning scholarship points. As previously noted, the JV Boys won their division for the second year in a row, and two of our bowlers earned individual medals.
Varsity Captain Michelle Thompson threw a commanding 215 and placed fifth for individual game.
Varsity Captain Evan Griffin threw a strong 248 and also placed fifth for individual game. He threw a 643 series and placed seventh in that category.
Excellent start, Hartland! Keep it rolling!
