Eagles News · Hartland Bowling Marks First Tournament Win of the Season

The Hartland Bowling Program started the 2017-18 season with a win this weekend.  On Sunday, December 3, 2017, both Varsity and JV teams attended the Richard Hochstein Memorial Scholarship Invitational at Wonderland Lanes in Commerce Township.

The JV Boys won the JV Division for the second year in a row.  Newcomer Tyler House joined returning bowlers Devin Guibord, Michael Barlette, Justin Towalski, Bob Goldsmith and Zeph Goldstein for the win.  This team is coached by Donnie Worthington.

The qualifying round consisted of three individual games followed by four baker games.  The top eight teams then went on to match play.  The Hartland JV Boys were ranked second at the cut.

In match play, the first and second seeds bowled unopposed, while the remaining six teams bowled two bakers for elimination.  Therefore, Hartland bowled easy in round one.  In round two, Hartland faced a rowdy Waterford Kettering team and sent them home.  In the third and final round, Hartland handily defeated Walled Lake Central for the repeat tournament win!  Congratulations, boys!
