HARTLAND

► Last season: 14-5-4, 6-2-2 KLAA West

► Top players: Andrea Everett, GK, Sr.; Caroline Halonen, F, Sr.; Chloe Holt, D, Sr.; Kylie Hughes, MF, Sr.; Sydney Hughes, F, Sr.; Jhay-lah Kennell, D, Sr.; Mary Storm, MF, Soph.; Caitlyn Trombley, F-MF, Soph.

► Outlook: Hartland returns Everett in goal and two starting defenders from a team that registered 11 shutouts in 23 games last season. Halonen could be in for a big season. She is moving to forward after ranking second on the team with 11 goals last season playing a defensive midfield role. Hartland, like all of the teams in the new KLAA Gold, hopes that the level of difficulty in the division is good preparation for the state tournament.

► Coach Andrew Kartsounes: “There are some questions we have to answer as far as offensively who is going to score, losing our leading scorer in Jenna Halonen last year. We’ll have a good team, an exciting team, one that will control the ball and generate chances.”
