Novi 73, Brighton 64

NOVI — Brighton’s Tommy Kocab won the 300-meter hurdles in 42.05 seconds and was second in the 110 high hurdles in 16.16.

Jack Spamer of Brighton (1-1) took second to Novi’s Gabriel Mudel in the 1,600 (4:35.78) and 3,200 (10:05.22).

Livonia Stevenson 89, Hartland 48

HARTLAND — A bright spot for Hartland was the performance of freshman Isaac Elmore, who tied teammate Evan Linden for first in the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 6 inches, took second in the 100 (11.7 seconds) and third in the 300 hurdles (46.1).

Also winning for Hartland were Dustin Varcoe in the 200 (23.8), Joseph Nicholas in the 400 (53.2) and Jackson LaFontaine in the high jump (5-7).

Lansing Catholic Relays

LANSING — Chris Davis won the 800 in 1:58.56 and anchored Fowlerville’s distance medley relay team to a third-place finish.

Fowlerville’s Mitchell Bishop, Alex Bowers, Damon Hogg and Zach Reske won the 400-meter throwers relay in 52.23 seconds.

Patrick Monahan-McLearon, Elias Kaijasilta, Blake Howard and Nick Reason were second in the 1,600 relay in 3:44.61.

Dalton Sweet took second in the pole vault, clearing 12 feet. Caleb Maleitzke took third in the long jump with a leap of 19-3 1/2.

Fowlerville was fourth with 50 points, just 5.75 points behind first-place Pewamo-Westphalia.


Hartland 92, Livonia Stevenson 44

HARTLAND — Hartland sophomore Lindsey Strutz pulled off a rare double, winning the shot put with a toss of 34 feet, 7 inches and the high jump with a leap of 4-9.

Lauren Smith won the 100 in 13.1 seconds and the 200 in 27.3 for Hartland. Livingston County record holder Ellie Zimmermann cleared 10-6 to win the pole vault. Freshman Sydney Caddell won the long jump at 16-0 3/4. Ashlyn Shudick won the 100 hurdles (16.8) and Elisabeth Szostak took the discus (85-7).

Brighton 101, Novi 36

NOVI — Freshman Brooke Gray won the 100 and 200 for Brighton.

Also winning for the Bulldogs (2-0) were Sarah Faruzzi in the 100 hurdles, Olivia Chandler in the 1,600, Bryce Calka in the 400 and Maddie Brown in the 800.

Lansing Catholic Relays

LANSING — Mackenzie Brigham was second in the long jump with a leap of 15-7 and was on Fowlerville’s third-place 800 relay team with Kyla Chappell, Lauren Marquette and Dalaija Franklin.

Gabby Jolliff was third in the high jump at 4-6.

The Gladiators were eighth with 25 points.
