Prep highlights: Hartland hockey blanks Forest Hills Central

Hartland's Andrew Larson had one goal and three assists in an 8-0 victory over Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central.

Jorden Haydu scored the first two goals and Adam Pietila had the next two in Hartland’s 8-0 hockey victory over Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central Thursday at Hartland Sports Center.

Andrew Larson had a goal and three assists for the Eagles (3-1), who are ranked fifth in Division 2.

Ben Pouliot’s goal with 13:23 left in the third period ended the game via the mercy rule. Lucas Henry and Ashton Trombley had Hartland’s other goals.

Ryan Piros made 13 saves for the shutout. Hartland had 48 shots on goal.

KLAA West meet

Brighton won the first meet of the season with a strong score in the final round.

The Bulldogs scored 745.48 points, Hartland was second with 719.56 and Howell was fifth with 604.06.

Brighton held a 1.42-point edge over Hartland after two rounds before getting a score of 301.1 in round three. Hartland had 284.6 points in round three.

Austin McClure rolled games of 198 and 200 to win both of his games for Hartland. Logan Guibord had scores of 209 and 191 for the Eagles. Luke Sheets had a 237 and Matthew Hoskins a 213 in the first game for Howell.
