The Bethel Lady Pilots are pleased to announce that Michelle Moraitis has signed a letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career at Bethel College beginning in the fall of 2017.

Moraitis, daughter of Robert and Nanette Moraitis, is a 5’5″ point guard who hails from Howell, Michigan, and was a four-year letter winner for the Hartland Eagles. As a senior, Moraitis led the team to a 22-2 overall season record that included a division, conference and district title. During her final campaign, Moraitis set a new school record by dishing out 106 total assists (4.42 per contest). For her efforts, she was named First Team All-KLAA, which made her a two-time selection having landed honorable mention honors in 2016. She also landed her team’s MVP honor following the 2016-17 season, which she coupled with her previously collected best defender honor that she earned in 2015-16.

In addition to her work on the court for the Eagles, Moraitis also played AAU for the Michigan Mystics for four years and was a four-year letter winner for the Hartland girls’ cross country and track and field programs. On the track, Moraitis found success running mid-distance and qualifying for the state meet the past two seasons. Moraitis is also a leader in the Hartland High School Bible Club and participates in Adopt-A-Family in Hartland.

“After visiting the school and spending time with the team, I knew Bethel would be a great fit for me,” noted Moraitis. “I wanted to attend a small college with a strong Christian atmosphere that would challenge me academically, spiritually and athletically. I was also very impressed with Bethel’s nursing program that could help me reach my dream of becoming a nurse.”

Moraitis is the fourth member of the Lady Pilot incoming class of 2017, joining Kelsey Brinkner (Northridge), Grace Haley (Lansing Christian) and Addie Martin (Clyde).

The Bethel College Pilots compete in 17 intercollegiate sports for men and women. While accumulating 3 NAIA National Championships and 32 NCCAA National Championships by 10 different athletic teams, Bethel has also produced 143 NAIA All-American honors and 309 NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors over the past decade. Bethel College is an accredited Christian college offering associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees in more than 70 areas of study.
