Hartland Eagles Varsity’s Skene Throws No-Hitter To Defeat Stevenson
Madelin Skene was brilliant on the rubber on Wednesday, as she threw a no-hitter to lead the Eagles past Stevenson 6-0.
Hartland pulled off the big victory without ever scoring many runs in an inning. The most they scored was two in the fifth.
The Eagles got things moving in the first inning. Skene hit a solo homer.
Skene was the winning pitcher for the Eagles. She allowed zero hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out four.
Mesack took the loss for Stevenson. She surrendered four runs on nine hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out two and walking one.
Olshanski started the game for Stevenson. She surrendered two runs on three hits over one and one-third innings, walking zero.
Hartland tallied 12 hits. Delanie Grundman, Sam Nagel, and Brooke Cowan each collected multiple hits for the Eagles. Grundman led the Eagles with three hits in four at bats.
Hartland tore up the base paths, as two players, Grundman and Clare Minsker, stole two bases each.
