Leadership is not just a title for Ezekiel Macklin, it is how he competes every day. The senior captain has been a driving force for Hartland Boys Swim and Dive this season, mentoring teammates in and out of the pool while delivering one of his strongest competitive years. Macklin was one of five Eagles to qualify for the MISCA Championship meet, where he helped the 200 Medley Relay team post a time of 1:46.63 against elite statewide competition. His individual improvement has been just as impressive. Macklin recorded personal bests in eight of nine individual events this season, highlighting a year defined by growth and dedication. His season-best times include 50 Free in 25.58, 100 Free in 57.12, 200 Free in 2:08.03, 500 Free in 6:07.60, 100 Back in 1:10.62, 100 Breast in 1:22.98, and 200 IM in 2:43.98. And when the team needed him to step outside his comfort zone, he answered, posting a diving score of 86.30. In every lane, and even off the board, Macklin has embodied what it means to lead the Eagles.
