In the largest archery event in Michigan history, the Hartland Archers did not just rise to the occasion, they defined it. Competing in Lansing at a Michigan NASP State Tournament that featured 1,858 registered archers across two events, Hartland delivered a performance that will echo across the state for years to come. When the final arrows landed, the Eagles had captured four of the six available team state championships and nine of the 12 individual state titles, cementing their place as the premier program in Michigan. And they did not just leave with trophies. Hartland High School archers earned $24,675 of the $30,000 in available high school scholarships, a staggering haul that underscored both their dominance and their ability to perform when it mattered most. The elementary teams set the tone early, sweeping both Bullseye and 3D to claim two State Championships. Austin Jacobs led a remarkable effort, capturing 1st place in both Bullseye and 3D to earn two individual state titles. Frank Gobright added a 1st place finish in 3D on the boys side, while Dar Lorang placed 4th in Bullseye and Madyson LaPoint added a 4th place finish in 3D, completing a commanding start for the Eagles. The middle school team continued to stack results, finishing 2nd in both Bullseye and 3D. Delaney Staron delivered a championship sweep, winning 1st place in both Bullseye and 3D. Elyse Mulka placed 2nd in Bullseye and 5th in 3D, Aubrey DeCelle added a 4th place finish in Bullseye, and Madelyn Parsons secured 3rd in 3D, keeping Hartland firmly in the hunt throughout the division. At the high school level, Hartland elevated from contender to unstoppable. The Eagles captured State Championships in both Bullseye and 3D, with all 24 archers earning $300 scholarships for each team title, totaling $7,200 per event and $14,400 combined. Individually, the high school archers dominated the podium and the scholarship board. In Bullseye, Carisa Hall claimed the State Championship and a $1,000 scholarship, Addy Mach placed 3rd earning $775, Peyton Knowlton finished 4th earning $675, and Emma Shaw added a 5th place finish worth $575. On the boys side, Jayden Boshaw captured the State Championship and $1,000, while Dalton Suchland placed 3rd and earned $775. In 3D, Hall once again stood at the top with another State Championship and $1,000 scholarship, while Emma Shaw placed 3rd for $775 and Ceci Schmanski finished 4th earning $675. Boshaw mirrored that dominance on the boys side, winning 1st place and another $1,000, while Charlie Lord placed 3rd earning $775, Quinn Kruszka finished 4th earning $675, and Wyatt Shaw added a 5th place finish worth $575. The biggest honors of the weekend belonged to Hall and Boshaw, who were crowned Overall State Champions, combining Bullseye and 3D scores to earn the top titles and receive custom State Champion bows. Pressure moments only added to the legacy. Addy Mach, Peyton Knowlton, and Charlie Lord were forced into shootouts to break ties, each delivering under intense conditions with calm precision. Behind it all was a community effort. The event was made possible through the support of sponsors including Whitetails Unlimited, MI NASP, Brown Drilling and Water Treatment, Culver’s of Hartland, National Wildlife Refuge Turkey Federation Michigan Chapter, Jay’s Sporting Goods, M-36 Coffee Roasters, Mugg and Bopps, Attentive Industries, Precision Archery, CSM Mechanical, and Beauchamp Water Treatment Solutions. From record-setting participation to record-breaking results, this was more than a championship performance. It was a statement of excellence, built on dedication from athletes, coaches, and families who continue to raise the standard for Hartland Archery.
