LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The lights were bright, the field was massive, and Hartland Archery just delivered a masterclass on the national stage. Competing against a staggering field of over 14,000 archers at the National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) National Tournament in Louisville, Kentucky, Hartland didn't just compete—they rewritten the history books, bringing home two national podium finishes and a massive $36,000 in scholarship money. High School Varsity Makes NASP History The Hartland High School Varsity Team cemented their legacy this weekend by becoming the first school in NASP history to make the podium a second time in both the 3D and Bullseye events at the National Tournament. The Varsity squad captured national runner-up honors across the board, securing 2nd-place National Team trophies in both divisions: • 3D Event Score: 1737 • Bullseye Event Score: 3449 The historic performance comes with a massive payout, as the team brings home $36,000 in total scholarship money, translating to $1,500 per archer. Individually, junior Ryan Schultz put on a clinic in the Centershot 3D National Tournament, firing a near-perfect 299 out of 300 to tie for 1st place in the High School Male Division. Meanwhile, sophomore Addy Mach came up clutch, earning 2nd place for High School females in the 3D event with a stellar score of 294. Varsity Top Performers: • 3D Top Male: Ryan Schultz • Bullseye Top Female: Peyton Knowlton • Bullseye Top Male: Jayden Boshaw Austin Jacobs Crowned National Champion The future of the program is blindingly bright, highlighted by a breathtaking performance from 5th grader Austin Jacobs. Jacobs put the nation on notice in the elementary division. She kicked off the weekend by placing 5th in the Nation in the elementary female 3D tournament (Score: 277). She then followed that up by absolutely dominating the field to become the 1st place elementary female in the Nation for the Bullseye tournament, carding a spectacular 289. Backed by Jacobs' star turn, the Elementary Team finished 47th out of 97 teams in 3D (1420) and 49th out of 182 teams in Bullseye (2935). Tyler Wojciechowski (3D) and Emmett Kramer (Bullseye) took home top male honors for the elementary squad. Middle School and Centershot Sub-Squads Flex Depth Hartland's Middle School Team proved they belong among the elite, cracking the Top 10 in a massive field. The U14 archers placed 8th out of 249 teams in the Bullseye Tournament (3306) and 18th out of 207 teams in 3D (1637). Eighth grader Delaney Staron led the charge, finishing as the top middle school female in both events (280 in 3D, 290 in Bullseye). Brady Komaromi (3D) and Dominic Suchland (Bullseye) rounded out the top scoring for the middle schoolers. In other action, the Centershot National Bullseye Team defied the odds. Despite being severely shorthand—competing with only 9 of their 24 rostered archers—the squad showed elite resilience to bring home yet another 2nd place National Team trophy with a score of 1710 out of 1800. JV Squad Holds Their Own The Hartland High School JV Team also stepped into the pressure cooker of nationals, putting up a strong showing in a crowded field. The JV team placed 122nd out of 223 teams in 3D (1610) and 180th out of 262 teams in Bullseye (3190). JV Top Performers: • 3D: MJ Jacobs (Top Female) | Joel Dubs (Top Male) • Bullseye: Keely Walaskay (Top Female) | Levi Shaw (Top Male) The Last Word With personal bests falling left and right under intense national pressure, Hartland Archery proved that their program is a bona fide powerhouse from top to bottom. "We could not be prouder of all of our archers, coaches, and families," the coaching staff said in a statement. "Many of our athletes shot personal bests this weekend, competed under pressure, and represented Hartland with incredible sportsmanship and determination."
