The boys varsity soccer team came into the district finals with high expectations. They had already set the school record for most wins in a season but were focused on bringing home some hardware and advancing in the state tournament. The Eagles started out fast with a goal by Brody DeLaBarre in the first 2 minutes of the game. Avery Bryan chipped the goalie for a beauty of a second goal. Matthew Burris used his speed to push past the defender and put the third goal in the back of the net and to send the Eagles to the half with a 3-0 lead. The 2nd half was no different. Zane King, Brayden Hilborn and Paolo Gjolaj all scored goals that were highlight reel worthy. The defense faced some pressure but Trip Tomyn and his defensive crew kept the Knights off the board for a final score of 6-0. The team advances to the regional semifinal that will be held at North Farmington on October 21st at 5 PM vs Clarkston.
